Organic Aeroponics Illegal?

Posted by Joshua T. Serpa on Sep 11th 2019

The soil food web is the interrelationship of microbes, fungi, nematodes, arthropods, amoeba and cilia along with minerals, sand, silt, clay and organic mater.  This living ecosystem in healthy living soil is very hard to reproduce in a hydroponic or aeroponic environment.  In order to do this the aeroponic systems need to be designed in a way that promotes the beneficial microbes, fungi, etc, while being able to deliver organic inputs to the root zone without negetively affecting root growth.

The fact that the National Organic Standards Board ruled to make organic aeroponic systems prohibited from organic certification is fucking stupid as fuck.  Just because the systems do not exist in the current marketplace does not mean that they should be illegal.  I need to have a talk with Chairman Tom Chapman about this issue.  This ruling makes no sense at all.

Organic Aeroponics Systems can greatly increase the food supply if they where given time to be developed . The systems would have to be designed to promote the soil food web and they would have to be cost effective for large scale agriculture.  Both of these objectives are possible.
