The soil food web is the interrelationship of microbes, fungi, nematodes, arthropods, amoeba and cilia along with minerals, sand, silt, clay and organic mater. This living ecosystem in healthy living soil is very hard to reproduce in a hydroponic or aeroponic environment. In order to do this the aeroponic systems need to be designed in a way that promotes the beneficial microbes, fungi, etc, while being able to deliver organic inputs to the root zone without negetively affecting root
